SUNY Koreaㅣ2019-02-13 10:11

From January 28 to February 1, 2019, the 5th annual Joint Venture Global Innovation Project was held at SUNY Korea. The week-long project involved a total of 32 students: 8 students from Tsinghua University, 2 students from POSTEC, 4 students from Yonsei University, and 18 students from SUNY Korea SBU.

Revolving around the theme of this project, ‘Beauty and Artificial Intelligence (AI)’, students discussed new market exploration and creative business strategies using AI technology. Further, they discussed innovative ideas of connecting AI technology with the Beauty market that is experiencing daily growth.

Teams were formed so students majoring various subjects (Computer Science, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Korea) could interact and collaborate to experience holistic education.

Team Purple won the final competition. One of the members, Hong Sejin (Yonsei University) explained, “Our team presented on developing an application that integrates AI and AR (Augmented Reality).” Further, Hyun Yewon (POSTECH) expressed, “I am surprised that our team won because I know other teams also put all their effort into their projects. We didn’t get to fully prepare for the team debates, but I’m delighted that we were able to win the final competition.”

We hope this Joint Venture Global Innovation Project gave students with diverse backgrounds opportunities to learn problem-solving techniques through collaboration. Further, we expect the project to become a milestone for active interactions between the four universities.
