January 13, 2019 - The 5th Joint Venture Global Innovation Project was held at SUNY Korea from January 28 to February 1, 2019. The week-long project saw the participation of 32 students: 8 students from Tsinghua University, 2 students from POSTECH, 4 students from Yonsei University, and 18 students from SUNY Korea SBU.
Under the theme, “Beauty and Artificial Intelligence (AI),” the participants discussed new market exploration and creative business strategies using AI technology and offered innovative ideas for connecting AI technology with the beauty market that is experiencing consistent growth.
The teams were a mix of students from different majors (from SUNY Korea: Computer Science, Business Management, and Mechanical Engineering) and different universities – allowing for a more holistic approach to the project.
Team Purple the competition with their application that integrates AI and AR (augmented reality).
Hyun Yewon (POSTECH), a member of the winning team, commented, “I am surprised that our team won because I know other teams also put all their effort into their projects. We didn’t get to fully prepare for the team debates, but I’m delighted that we were able to win the final competition.”
The Joint Venture Global Innovation Project is an annual event that gives students with diverse backgrounds opportunities to learn problem-solving techniques through collaboration. The project also fosters active interactions between the four universities.
