To the Campus Community regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus
In the midst of the holiday, the concern on the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus has been rising worldwide. As you know, this novel coronavirus carries mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath and was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, which then has spread to several countries, including two cases in Korea and one in the U.S. It spreads by coughing and sneezing, close personal contact such as shaking hands, and touching an object with the virus on it.
SUNY Korea as a global institution, has been paying serious attention to this highly contagious illness upon its obligation to protect the community and members.
When you have such symptoms described above and have traveled to Wuhan or was in contact with someone with the symptoms, please follow the instructions below
Do not go to public places to avoid spreading virus
Put on the mask
In Korea, please contact Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) at 1339 and tell your symptoms and your recent travel history
On campus, please contact Health Center on IGC at +82-626-0553 or SUNY Korea Administration at +82-626-1145/1100
Moreover, to protect yourself from the virus,
Wash your hands using running water for more than 30 seconds
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Cover up your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
Notify your travel records to the medical staff
