CPA Study Group Students Explore the Growing Demand for Foreign Accountants at EY HanYoung In an insightful field trip organized by the CPA Study Group on Monday, November 13th, 15 enthusiastic members had the opportunity to visit EY HanYoung. EY HanYoung is a prominent player in the corporate accounting sector that provides consulting, assurance, tax, and transaction service. The event included a company overview, an engaging Q&A session with a Senior Accountant, and a comprehensive office tour. The study group's visit commenced with a warm welcome from EY HanYoung's staff, who introduced the firm and its areas of expertise. The participants were specifically notified that in addition to Assurance, there is a growing demand for foreign accountants in areas such as Consulting, Deals, and Tax. One of the highlights of the trip was the Q&A session with a Senior Accountant at EY HanYoung. This session offered the students a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the daily life and challenges that account professionals face. Additionally, the office tour provided an inside look at the firm’s facilities and working environment, which was also a very unique opportunity for the CPA Student Group to be able to glimpse the dynamic and collaborative culture at EY HanYoung. This field trip served as an important stepping stone for the future accountants of the CPA Study Group. The growing demand for foreign accountants will be a great opportunity for the students at SUNY Korea, where students are able to experience cross-cultural skills and earn global perspectives.

Recent Accomplishments by SUNY Korea Students SUNY Korea is proud to recognize students’ achievements. Here are some notable achievements by our graduates and currently enrolled students. Prince-David Malendel, who graduated in Fall 2021 at SUNY Korea with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, achieved his Master’s Degree in Stony Brook and secured a position at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) as an Associate Staff Mechanical Engineer. BNL is known for winning seven Nobel Prizes and 37 R&D Awards. YoungHoon Kim, a Business Management graduate of the Spring 2021 semester, got employed as a Data Analyst at Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics is one of the most famous global brands and is widely known for their wide production in electronic devices. Seonbin Jeon, a Spring 2023 Technological Systems Management graduate, recently got hired at EY Hanyoung for the technology transformation consulting position. EY Hanyoung, one the largest professional services networks in the world, provides a wide variety of services that include tax assurance, transactions, accounting, and related auditing services. Su Rin Kim, Spring 2023 Mechanical Engineering graduate, got an OPT and started her career at DiLandro Andrews Engineering (NY) as a MEP Engineer. DiLandro Andrews Engineering specializes in civil, structural, and mechanical engineering services. Xuezhu Wang, a Spring 2021 Applied Mathematics and Statistics graduate, has been admitted to UC Irvine for his Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Bethlehem Kebede, another Spring 2021 Applied Mathematics and Statistics graduate, has been admitted to Georgia Tech for his Master’s Degree in Analysis. Currently Enrolled Students’ Achievements Two currently Sophomores from the Business Management Department, Hyeonik Park and Junhee Kim, passed the AICAP exam during this summer in July. SUNY Korea Fall 2021 Commencement on Saturday, December 18, 2021 Dear SUNY Korea Community, We will come together to celebrate the commencement of the Class of Fall 2021 and confer the hard-earned degrees on Saturday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. KST. This special tribute to the graduating class includes remarks from Dr. Wonki Min (President of SUNY Korea), Dr. Maurie McInnis (President of Stony Brook University), and Dr. Hyun-Soon Lee (Former Vice Chairman of Doosan Group). This year, SUNY Korea is holding the ceremony in person only for RSVP'd graduation candidates under strict COVID prevention measures. The ceremony will also be live-streamed via SUNY Korea's YouTube channel. RSVP'd students may accompany guests to the event, where guests will be able to watch the live-streamed ceremony in separate rooms. [USC SUNY Korea] 2021 Club Festival <Da Capo Concert> USC SUNY Korea hosted 2021 Club Festival this week. Second one was a "Da Capo Concert". On Tuesday, November 30th, Da Capo, Orchestra & Chorus club at SUNY Korea had a concert at IGC Auditorium. The title of the concert was "The First Concert". Hopefully lots of people had a chance to enjoy beautiful concert!

[USC SUNY Korea] 2021 Club Festival <Town Hall Meeting> USC SUNY Korea hosted 2021 Club Festival this week. First one was a "Town Hall Meeting". On Monday, November 29th, Club Executives had "Town Hall Meeting" at IGC Multi-Complex building. They had meaningful time to look back on the year.
