SUNY Korea R&BDF MoU for the GLOCAL Research Project
On Monday, January 29, 2024, SUNY Korea Research & Business Development Foundation (R&BDF), GM Employee Foundation Korea, and Incheon Metropolitan City Education Superintendent solidified their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This strategic partnership aims to enhance cooperation in a "GLOCAL" (global + local) Research Project. The agreement underscores the commitment of both organizations to generate fresh knowledge and value through AI education, cultivate innovative ideas that embrace diversity, and embody the principles of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) along with a "GLOCAL" approach. The GLOCAL Research Project is a collaborative initiative where professors and students work together to generate innovative solutions addressing global challenges encountered by both multinational corporations and Green Climate Fund (GCF) companies, utilizing the capabilities of AI. Approximately 50 people joined the MOU ceremony, including SUNY Korea R&BDF Executive Director Min-Koo Han, GM Employee Foundation Korea Secretary-General Myongok Yoon, Incheon Metropolitan City Education Superintendent Do Seong-hoon, and other distinguished guests. The ceremony included presentations from four student academic clubs, each highlighting the results of their research projects developed over the past year. The event was marked by a congratulatory speech, followed by the official signing ceremony.

Regional Intellectual Property Center and SUNY Korea R&BD Foundation Signs MOU for Prospective Entrepreneur Discovery On the 6th of November, the Regional Intellectual Property Center and the Research and Business Development Foundation of State University of New York Korea (SUNY Korea) signed a memorandum to strengthen the management and intellectual property capabilities of prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs in the Incheon area. The two institutions have agreed to establish a mutual cooperation system through this agreement, which includes discovering and supporting potential entrepreneurs in the Incheon area, as well as conducting demand surveys and information exchange on technological and managerial innovation activities for potential entrepreneurs. Myeon Bok Kim, the director of the Regional Intellectual Property Center, stated, “We anticipate that the technological, managerial, design, and branding capabilities held by the professors at SUNY Korea, along with the intellectual property capabilities of the Regional Intellectual Property Center, will provide synergy to entrepreneurs.” Min-Koo Han, the director of R&BD Foundation of SUNY Korea, said, “Starting with the analysis of the technological and managerial activity needs of entrepreneurs, we will strengthen our efforts to establish support programs that provide practical assistance to entrepreneurs in the Incheon area.”

SUNY Korea Research and Business Development Foundation, 2023 Startup Bootcamp The State University of New York Korea (SUNY Korea) in Songdo, Incheon (President Arthur H. Lee) announced that the SUNY Korea Research and Business Development Foundation (Director Min-Koo Han) held a Startup Boot Camp on the 25th of October for the prep entrepreneurs and early-stage entrepreneurs. The event was jointly organized by the R&BD Foundation of SUNY Korea and the Incheon Global Campus Operation Foundation. It provided a great opportunity for the participants, 52 students and professors, to lay successful foundations for technology startups. Director Chang-hyung Lee (Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development) and Director Sung Hyun Kong (Korea Accelerator Association) participated, along with other startup support organizations, and provided education to foster students' entrepreneurial spirit and improve the success rate of early-stage startups. The program consisted of “Successful Founder’s Case Study,” “Understanding the Domestic Startup Ecosystem,” and “Introduction to Government Startup Policies and Startup Support Programs.” It garnered a great response from participants. In particular, the in-depth lecture and disclosure of selected know-how from successful founder Jae-ho Seo, the representative of NT Co., Ltd, resonated greatly with the participating students. After the lecture, a variety of questions poured in during the Q&A session, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere. Questions were asked about topics such as "How to resolve conflicts in team startup values", "Ways to choose good investors", and "How to apply for youth entrepreneurship support programs". These questions confirmed the high level of interest among students in entrepreneurship.

SUNY Korea Research and Business Development Foundation, Signs an MOU (배움뜰) SUNY Korea Research and Business Foundation (R&BF) made a Memorandum of Understanding agreement with Seoul Fashion Hub Bae Um Tteul (배움뜰) on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023. The areas of cooperation include 1.) Comprehensive cooperative activities for education support. 2.) Network establishment and experience sharing for employment support. 3.) Joint marketing cooperation for the development and revitalization of local communities. Both parties will cooperate with each other to promote the development of both organizations for collaboration in vitalizing education services and employment support through information exchange, such as new knowledge and technology related to fashion.
