How to Apply?

All new students are considered for our Merit Based Scholarships. To be considered for a merit-based scholarship, incoming students must submit a completed scholarship application form along with their university application.

SUNY Korea Admissions Office will notify selected students via email with a scholarship award letter. The awarded type, amount, and duration of the scholarship vary. Detailed information will be included in the award letter.

Scholarships that are renewable require recipients to meet continuing criteria. For the most up-to-date terms and conditions of each scholarship, please refer to each specific scholarship type below.

  • Students who have achieved a meritorious unweighted high school average are considered for the Presidential Scholarship. High school academic program, SAT/ACT scores, extracurricular activities, or special talents or skills may also be taken into account. Scholarship duration vary based on academic qualifications.

    Benefits

    • Full tuition for eligible semesters
    • Housing upon the review
    • Duration: two - six semesters

    Continuing Criteria

    • Must maintain full-time enrollment (12 credits)
    • Credits completed toward GPA: 12 credits or more
    • Minimum term GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • No report on academic dishonesty or misbehavior

High school academic program, SAT/ACT scores, extracurricular activities, or special talents or skills may also be taken into account. Scholarship duration vary based on academic qualifications.

    Benefits

    • Tuition coverage: $7,500 per semester
    • Duration: two - six semesters

    Continuing Criteria

    • Must maintain full-time enrollment (12 credits)
    • Credits completed toward GPA: 12 credits or more
    • Minimum term GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • No report on academic dishonesty or misbehavior
  • Merit Scholarships are awarded based on outstanding academic achievement, including high school grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, and extracurricular activities. The Merit Scholarship can be extended for a maximum of one semester.

    Benefits

    • Tuition coverage: $1,000 ~ $10,000
    • Duration: two semesters

    Continuing Criteria

    • Must maintain full-time enrollment (12 credits)
    • Credits completed toward GPA: 12 credits or more
    • Minimum term GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • No report on academic dishonesty or misbehavior
  • Encouragement Award is awarded based on outstanding academic achievement, including high school grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, and extracurricular activities. This award is a one-time, non-continuous scholarship.

    Benefits

    • Tuition coverage: $1,000 ~ $5,000
    • Duration: one semester

    • Credits completed toward GPA: 12 credits or more
    • Minimum term GPA of 3.2/4.0
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
