Spring 2025 Rematriculation

  • Period: October 28, 2024 - February 14, 2025


Rematriculation Procedure

  • Complete the ‘Undergraduate Rematriculation Form’ and submit it to your Department Coordinator.
    -  The Rematriculation Form is attached to this page.
    -  College Type:  CEAS - AMS, CS, ECE, ME, TS / COB - BM
    -  If you forgot your SOLAR password, please check the SOLAR password reset box on the form.

  • Make sure to clear any holds that may prevent course registration in advance.
  • The rematriculation fee of $50.00 is required only for those who took a leave of absence for 2 semesters or more. These students should pay $50.00 through “Solar” after the rematriculation process is completed.
    -  Solar > Account Information/Payment > What Do I Owe?
    -  A non-refundable $50.00 rematriculation fee will be posted to your student account at the time of processing this request.
  • The rematriculation process will be completed within 2-3 business days.

 

Important Notes

  • The deactivated Stony Brook Email address will be reactivated after the rematriculation process is completed.
  • If you are a Scholarship Recipients, please complete the Google Form: Click Here
  • If you forgot your NetID password, please follow the instruction link below.
    -  First, students should have created their challenge questions in SOLAR. Once you set up your challenge question, please follow the following steps.
    -  Link: https://it.stonybrook.edu/help/kb/set-or-reset-your-solarnetid-password-with-the-stony-brook-password-reset-tool
    -  If you have not set up the challenge questions in SOLAR, it will take 24 hours for this information to populate in the SBU Password Reset Tool. After 24 hours, students can go to the website above in order to reset their NetID passwords.
  • Military Leave Exception - Effective from Fall 2023 Rematriculation
    -  Students rematriculating immediately following mandatory military service, may request an exception to follow requirements in effect at the time of their leave. To be eligible for such consideration, students must provide documentation demonstrating the start and end date of their service. For students requesting their prior matriculation degree requirement term, please include "Certificate of Military Service." For more information, Click HERE.
