At SUNY Korea Career Development Center, we help students identify and pursue their authentic career interest through developing personal action plans – from resume and cover letter, internship search, interviewing, networking workshops to connecting with alumni and professionals, career education workshops and recruitment fair – which facilitates focused exploration and confident, educated decision making.

A targeted resume and a cover letter are a basic requirement for a successful job search. CDC provides structured assistance and feedback as well as resources to help students create effective resumes and cover letters that can be used for applying to companies, international organizations and professional fields.
Career Workshops
Career Talk to You
This series is a two-way interactive talk show that includes practical Q&A sessions from professional lecturers. Through inviting prominent speakers who have diverse career experiences, students can learn about different career options.
Career Build-up School
Specialized programs for juniors and seniors to prepare for their employment. Through practical, focused sessions from learning how to do a job search to creating their own LinkedIn page, students will be equipped with professional skills and tools to apply for jobs.
Career Design School
Freshmen and sophomores are invited to hear about the initial steps of career development and apply the knowledge to get ahead with their career plan.
Alumni Panel Interview
CDC invites a variety of SUNY Korea alumni to share their approaches of making a successful transition to the professional field, tips to navigating for today’s employment world, insights and advice that they have to offer to our current students. Time for Q&A and networking will also be provided to help encourage students and alumni to form a close-knit network of support. .
Student Internship Panel Interview
CDC invites a variety of SUNY Korea students who have valuable internship experiences to share their strategies of successfully attaining the internship opportunity. Students will benefit from senior and upper-year predecessors' internship search and application process, experience, tips, and gain practical advice towards their career preparation.
Individualized Career Counseling
Individualized sessions to provide 1-on-1 career counseling based on the student’s academic background, experience, interest, skillset and career aspirations regardless of their grade level.
Mock Interviews
Receiving feedback from reliable and knowledgeable professionals on your interviewing skills is invaluable to help you to become more skilled at interviewing. Through a typical 30-minutes question and answer session, a CDC advisor will identify your strengths in the interview as well as point out the areas in which you need further development. Mock interviews can be conducted in English and Korean.
Recruitment Fairs & Site Visits
SUNY Korea students are invited to recruitment fairs and company visits where they will be able to meet and speak directly to HR personnel representing various companies.
Resource Library
CDC provides a variety of resources to assist students with self-assessment, career exploration, and job search strategies. Students can check out resources that offer guidelines to writing resume/ cover letters and samples, information on majors and career paths, self-assessment exercises and more. Students are also encouraged to borrow books and publications from CDC to help with their career development. Advisors are happy to answer any questions about accessing or using CDC resources.
