Course-based Tutoring

The Tutoring Center offers undergraduate students one-on-one and small group tutoring appointments for various courses.

General Guidelines

  • Location:
    • The Tutoring Center is located in A 526.
    • The Writing Center is located in A 713.
  • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Reservation Policy:
    • The Tutoring Center operates on an appointment basis.
    • Reservations are essential so that tutors can prepare in advance.
    • Unscheduled walk-ins are accepted but will be given lower priority compared to students with reservations if there is a time conflict.
    • Failure to attend a scheduled appointment may result in a ban for the remainder of the semester.
    • If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Session Duration : Each tutoring session should last no more than 30 minutes.

Conduct Guidelines:

  • Treat tutors, other students, and staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Tutoring is not a substitute for attending class regularly.
  • Students must not request personal contact information from tutors.
  • Tutors should not be contacted outside the Tutoring Center for tutoring purposes.
  • You must adhere to all academic integrity policies. Do not request help with, nor receive assistance on, any examination, homework, take-home test, or other graded assignment for which you are not permitted to seek help from a tutor.

Academic Guidance:

  • Tutors are not academic advisors. Please seek assistance from the appropriate advisor for questions related to course selection, academic requirements, majors, or academic standing concerns.

Course-Based Tutoring:

  • Your tutor may have taken the course with a different instructor. Peer tutors receive recommendations from the faculty members who taught them, but the Tutoring Center does not guarantee that the tutor is endorsed by your current course instructor.
  • The presentation of course material may vary depending on the instructor, which may affect the tutor's ability to assist you.
