ITER is an international organization located in Cadarache, France, launched in October 2007 to manage the ITER project, a collaborative effort involving seven countries, including South Korea, the EU, the United States, Japan, China, Russia, and India. These nations are jointly participating in the construction and operation of the ITER project. The ITER organization is responsible for the entire project, taking full responsibility for the construction, assembly, and installation of the experimental reactor.
The ITER organization’s workforce is composed of management (D1 to DG), professional staff (P1 to P6), and support staff (G1 to G6). In accordance with the ITER Joint Implementation Agreement, only personnel from participating nations are eligible to work at ITER. As of the end of July 2024, a total of 1,096 employees are working at ITER, with 70 of them being Korean.

▪️ Qualification:

1.    Cost Estimator (IO0670 - G5)

•    Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation within large-scale industrial projects or power plant construction.

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

2.    Mechanical Engineer (IO0808 / IO0726 - P2)

•    Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related fields within nuclear facilities or international projects.

•    Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience.

 

▪️ Responsibilities:

1.    Cost Estimator:

•    Perform cost estimation for project changes approved by the ITER Council.

•    Analyze bid results for cost comparisons during procurement processes.

2.    Mechanical Engineer:

•    Develop and coordinate interface design for the main tokamak.

•    Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and structural analysis for piping systems and components.
