Dear New Students of Fall 2020,
We are sharing with you the overall schedule of the New Student Welcome Week (NSWW) that will be held next week: August 18 - 21, 2020.
1. CAMPUS RESIDENCY
If you have applied for on-campus housing, then you will be able to move-in on the date you have requested: August 16, 18 - 23.
The Resident Assistants (RAs) will be waiting for our new students on Sunday, August 16 from 1PM - 4:30PM to help with move in. If you'd like to meet them in advance, you may choose to move-in on Sunday afternoon (this is not mandatory).*Please contact the IGC Housing Office if you wish to change your move-in date (IGC Housing: housing.igc.or.kr / housing@igc.or.kr / 032-626-4856)
2. PLACEMENT EXAM SCHEDULE (August 18/19)
Individual schedule for the Writing and Math Placement Exams on August 18 and/or 19 will be sent out separately via email by Academic Affairs.
Provisional students will take their IEC Placement Exam separatelyIntensive English Center (IEC): IEC@sunykorea.ac.kr
Academic Affairs will send a separate email regarding your course registration schedule. Make sure you check the time and location and don't forget to bring your own laptop for course registration!
4. INTRODUCTION TO UNIVERSITY (August 20)
You are required to attend the Introduction to University, President's Message, and Academic Integrity by Provost session at the IGC Auditorium on Thursday, August 20.*PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL TO SEE YOUR SCHEDULED TIME AND ATTEND THE CORRECT SESSION*
5. OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS
You should bring your OFFICIAL final transcript and certificate of your high school graduation diploma if you haven't submitted them to the Admissions Office yet.
Due to COVID-19, the Convocation Ceremony will be held online and you will not be attending the ceremony in person. Please visit the official SUNY Korea YouTube channel to watch the ceremony online.
7. COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES
To ensure the safety of our campus, please remember to follow these safety guidelines:
Wear a face mask at all times
Wash your hands frequently with soap and use the hand sanitizers (placed around campus)
Keep social distance between each other
If you have symptoms or fever over 37.5 celsius, then please contact the SUNY Korea Admissions Office or Academic Affairs regarding your absence.
Your temperature will be checked when you enter the academic buildings. We highly recommend you to arrive earlier than your scheduled time to prevent any delay.
