Fall 2024 On Campus Housing Resident Selection Process (Additional)

Dear SUNY Korea Students,
 
This is to inform you of the additional application period for the Fall 2024 on campus resident selection process. Students who submitted the application during the initial period (May 20 - 29) have been informed of their result on June 5. If you received the confirmation email, you do not need to submit the application again.

This email contains important information regarding the Fall 2024 housing application. 
ALL STUDENTS, including Spring 2024 freshmen, who wish to apply for Fall 2024 IGC Housing must follow this process. Please read through all of the information thoroughly.
 
The Resident Selection Process was implemented from the Spring 2024 in order to prioritize on campus housing for students whose residency is far from campus. This will continue for the upcoming semesters.
 
Priority will be given in the order of the following criteria:
  1. Live on campus requirement
  2. Permanent address
  3. Academic level (U1 lower grade first)
  4. Tiebreaker (can be based on actual distance from campus via public transportation, academic standing or other criteria)
All applicants interested in on campus housing will be required to submit the required document(s) correctly during the application period to be considered. The document(s) needs to be issued within 30 days of submission to be considered.
*Anyone found to have submitted false documentation will be subject to disciplinary action and will not be eligible for housing priority. In addition, applications with document(s) that do not follow the mentioned guidelines will not be considered.
  • Korean citizens & international students WITH permanent address in Korea
    • Includes your recent history of address changes (in the past 2 years) with the dates
    • You may cover your family members' personal ID number for privacy reasons (required to show YOUR information for verification purposes)
    • Korean: Your Certificate of Household Register (주민등록등본 or 주민등록초본)
    • International: Your Certification of Legal Status for Alien Registration (외국인등록사실증명서
  • International students WITHOUT permanent residency in Korea (has no family residing in Korea)
    • Passport
    • Front side of your Residence Card (RC)
  • Overseas Korean WITHOUT permanent residency in Korea
    • Narrative
    • Supporting documentation (ex. visa record, parents' certificate of employment & certificate of family relations, etc.)

 

 

TIMELINE:
  1. Application & Document Submission Period: June 5 (Wed) - 5 PM, June 10 (Mon)

  2. Application Review: June 11 (Tues) - June 12 (Wed)
  3. Result Announcement: June 13 (Thurs)
    *Those placed in the waitlist will also be notified via email

     
  4. IGC Housing Application Period: July 8 - 11
  5. IGC Housing Payment Period: July 15 - 16
    *Only the students who have been selected will be eligible to apply
    **Any other applications will be automatically cancelled
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • There will be a waitlist system if there are more applications submitted than available rooms.
  • Incorrect and/or false documentation will not be accepted and your application will be automatically cancelled without prior notice. Please resubmit the application or send us the correct document via email before the deadline to be considered.
  • If you do not submit your application & document(s) during the submission period, then you will not be eligible to submit the IGC Housing application even if you qualify for the priority group.
  • The above timeline schedule and information is subject to change. Any updates will be notified via email and it is your responsibility to check your inbox/spam folder.
