The Korea Times - 18th Economic Essay Contest for University Students

Dear Students,
 
The Korea Times invites Korean and foreign university students to enter its 18th English Economic Essay Contest. The annual event, sponsored by Woori Bank, is to help students better understand the Korean economy and improve their English writing skills. Applicants should submit their essays in English in about 800 words and are required to write the essay in newspaper column style.

  • Contest: The Korea Times 18th English Economic Essay Contest  (Website)
  • Topic 1: The MZ Generation, or the young people born between about 1981 and 2005, are rising as major customers for the financial businesses. What should be the strategies for financial companies or how should they use their platforms to lure these customers?
  • Topic 2: Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) has become a keyword in business management. What ESG practices can be adopted by financial companies such as banks?
  • Submission Deadline: October 30, 2022
  • How to Apply: Please fill out the attached form and send your essay to essay@koreatimes.co.kr
  • Prizes:
    • 2 Grand Awards: One Korean and one international contestant - 3 million won and award plaque 
    • Runner-up Award: 2 million won and award plaque
    • Three Commendation Awards: 1 million won and award plaque
