Information: COVID PCR Test Required to Enter Korea (1/8~)

Writer Administrator Date Created 2021.01.15 Hits724

Dear Students,

This is an important update regarding the COVID-19 test result when returning to Korea from overseas.
If you are staying in Korea for the winter break, then you may ignore this email.

Previously, you were required to bring the COVID-19 test result or a medical document that proves that you do not show any COVID-19 symptoms.

However, the Korean Government decided to strengthen safety measures on overseas entrants and announced that from 00:00, January 8 (KST), all foreign arrivals from abroad are required to submit a certificate of negative PCR test result issued within 72 hours of departure. You need to submit a hardcopy form of the test result. They will not accept electronic/digital copy.
Those who fail to submit the certificate or whose certificate does not meet the qualifying criteria will not be allowed to enter Korea.

We highly recommend you to check in advance of the available places that offer the PCR test and issue the results in a timely manner.

If you have any questions on this matter, we recommend you to contact the Korean Embassy in the country you are departing from.

Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
SUNY Korea Student Services
